What is the Workplace Based Childcare Centre Establishment Grant?

The Workplace Based Childcare Centre Establishment Grant is an allocation for the establishment and maintenance of Workplace Based Childcare Centre in federal or state government buildings.

Who is eligible for the Workplace Based Childcare Centre Establishment Grant?

  • All government agency offices under the Ministry / Department / Office of the State Secretary are eligible to apply for this Establishment Grant.
  • Government agency offices must meet the following conditions:
    1. Have the need to establish or maintain a new or existing Workplace Based Childcare Centre;
    2. Is an office under the Federal Government or State Government; and
    3. Obtain approval from the Ministry / Office of the State Secretary to establish a new or maintain an existing Workplace Based Childcare Centre.

How can a goverment agency office apply for the Workplace Based Childcare Centre Establishment Grant?

  • Applications must be made through the respective Ministries with reference to the Application Guide of Workplace Based Childcare Centre Establishment Grant (GT4) which has been distributed through all Ministries / Departments / State Secretary's Offices.
  • Proposal (GT2) from the office of government agencies must be sent through the Ministry / Department / Office of the State Secretary for coordination and confirmation by the respective secretary general of the ministry or state secretary; and
  • Applications are submitted to the KPWKM with the Application Form of Workplace Based Childcare Centre Establishment Grant (GT5) before the closing date for applications.
