What is Wage Subsidy Programme?

  • The Wage Subsidy Program (PSU) is financial assistance paid to employers for each employee, every month
  • Aims to support employers whose operations have been affected by COVID-19 with continuing operations and retaining employees, who in turn will benefit from being secure financially

Who is eligible for Wage Subsidy Programme?

  • Applications for PSU 3.0 have been closed on the 31st July 2021
  • Applications for PSU 4.0 are open, starting 1st August 2021
    1. Employers from all sectors who experienced a reduction in monthly income/sales of >30% for 2021 compared to the same months in 2019/ 2020/ 2021 before the COVID-19 pandemic
    2. For employers who have received PSU 1.0, PSU 2.0, PSU 3.0, a new application for PSU 4.0 must be made, in order to receive the PSU 4.0 assistance
  • Employers and employees must registered or contribute to SOCSO before 1st June 2021.
  • The employer has registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) or the Local Authority (PBT) before 1st June 2021
  • Maximum claim of 500 employees per employer

How do I apply for Wage Subsidy Programme?

  • Visit the Wage Subsidy Portal to apply for PSU 4.0 before 30th October 2021
  • Wage subsidies will be channeled to employers who have registered for PSU 4.0 automatically, and employers will only need to update the number of their employees or the active status of the business if there is a change
