What is the MARA PRIHATIN POM3.0 Programme?

  • This programme is one of MARA's initiatives through it's Credit Control Division (CCD) to help MARA Education Loan borrowers affected by the COVID – 19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO). Indirectly, MARA also helps borrowers ease their credit burden during this challenging situation
  • The MARA PRIHATIN: POM 3.0 program offers several initiatives as follows (terms and conditions applies): -
    1. Moratorium / Deferment of Repayment of MARA Education Loan
    2. MARA Education Loan Repayment Rescheduling
    3. MARA Education Loan Repayment Alternative Through EPF e-Withdrawal
    4. MARA Education Loan Reduction (Conversion)
    Initiative Benefits/ Terms
    Moratorium
    • Deferment of repayment of MARA Education Loan for three (3) months commencing upon approval
    • The repayment period of the MARA Education Loan will be extended through loan repayment restructuring.
    Rescheduling
    • A lower monthly repayment amount of RM100 per month for a year
    Payments through EPF’s e-Withdrawals
    • Enable borrowers to make payments through EPF e-withdrawals
    Loan Reduction (Conversion)
    • The commitment money (advance money) must be paid by the borrower before the Conversion application can be processed. This payment will be deducted from the borrower's education loan amount. Borrowers need to make a commitment payment of RM300 into the borrower's MARA Education Loan account

Who is eligible for the MARA PRIHATIN POM3.0 Programme?

Initiative Borrower Criteria
Moratorium
  • Borrowers who have no repayment arrears or repayment arrears not exceeding six (6) months during the date of application; AND
  • Affected by the COVID – 19 pandemic and MCO announced by the Government
Rescheduling
  • MARA Education Loan Borrowers who have high education loan arrears or high monthly repayment schedule at the date of application (subject to the conditions that have been set).
Payments through EPF’s e-Withdrawals
  • Borrowers who have no repayment arrears or repayment arrears not exceeding six (6) months during the date of application; AND
  • Affected by the COVID – 19 pandemic and MCO announced by the Government
Loan Reduction (Conversion)
  • Borrowers who successfully complete their studies as stated in the MARA Education Loan Agreement (subject to the conditions that have been set)

How do I apply for the MARA PRIHATIN POM3.0 Programme?

Initiative Application Method Documents Required
Moratorium Online at e–Moratorium through the e–Baki MARA system from 1 July - 30 September 2021 Application letter from the Education Loan borrower or supporting documents as follows:-
  • Letter of application for deferment of repayment of study loan from the borrower; OR
  • Letter of confirmation of termination from the employer either by force or otherwise; OR
  • Letter of confirmation of half -pay or unpaid leave; OR
  • Income has been deducted or reduced by the employer; OR
  • Statement of income of businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic; OR
  • Other supporting documents proving the applicant received a direct impact due to the above circumstances
