What is GKP?

  • GKP or the Prihatin Special Grant is a one-off financial assistance to qualified Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (Micro SMEs) to alleviate the financial burden of businesses while increasing productivity of production and services
  • Under Budget 2021 and the PERMAI package, additional GKP has been provided to Micro SMEs nationwide
  • In March 2021, GKP 3.0 was announced under PEMERKASA package. Every eligible Micro SME received a one-off GKP3.0 payment of RM1,000
    1. GKP 3.0 applications have now been closed
    2. Additional payment of RM500 have been channeled to existing GKP 1.0/ 2.0/ 3.0 recipients in July 2021, under the PEMERKASA+ package
  • GKP4.0 was announced in June under the PEMULIH package. Payments of RM500 will be channeled to the eligible Micro SMEs in September and November 2021
    1. GKP 4.0 applications will open 15th July 2021

Who is eligible to apply for GKP?

  • Eligible Micro SMEs for GKP are businesses that fulfil the criteria of Micro SME and are also registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), relevant Local Authorities, or the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN)
  • Additional GKP will only be given to GKP 1.0/ 2.0/ 3.0 existing recipients, including appeals
  • For GKP 4.0:
    1. Existing recipients of GKP 1.0/ 2.0/ 3.0 will receive payment of GKP 4.0 without having to re-apply
    2. New GKP 4.0 applicants can apply for GKP 4.0 at the GKP Portal starting 15 July 2021 until 31 July 2021

How to check on application status for GKP?

  • The results on the GKP 2.0/ 3.0 can be checked the GKP Portal
  • For Micro SMEs that have never received GKP before, applications for GKP 4.0 can be made online at the GKP Portal starting 1 April 2021
