What is Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR)?

  • Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat 2021 targets the B40 group with an income bracket of RM 5,000 and below
  • Eligible applicants can apply during the initiative period via online or by visiting a LHDNM branch
  • The following enhancements to BPR have been announced on 17th March 2021, under the PEMERKASA package:

BPR recipients with incomes less than RM1,000 RM500
  • Does not involve any applications or registrations
  • Verification of loss of income and cross checks will be performed with LHDNM, EPF, and SOCSO systems
  • To avoid any groups being accidentally excluded, data from agencies overseeing the welfare of poor households (e.g. JKM, e-Kasih) will be used during the application process
BPR recipients who have lost their jobs between the end of 2020 and 30th March 2021 RM500
  • Under the PEMERKASA+ package that was announced on 31st May 2021, additional BPR payments will be channeled to recipients at the end of June 2021, as detailed below:

Who is eligible for the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR)?

Applicants are eligible for the BPR 2021 initiative if they fulfil the eligible category below:

  • Household
  1. Malaysian citizen (MyKad) who is residing in Malaysia only; and
  2. Married; or
  3. Single mother or father / widow / widower / divorcee with children; or
  4. Singles (including disabled person) aged 60 years old and above; and
  5. Household income is RM5,000 and below
  • Singles
  1. Malaysian citizen (MyKad) who is residing in Malaysia only; and
  2. Single or single mother or father/ widow/ widower / divorcee with no children; and
  3. Between the ages of: 21 years to 59 years old; or 18 years old and 59 years old for disabled person; and
  4. Individual income is less than RM2,500
